TD Canada turned their normal ATMs from tellers to "Automated Thanking  Machines," giving valued customers gifts they could not turn down, but couldn't get for themselves. The tellers in each bank told the executives about the struggles of their clients and they wanted to do something about it.

Some of the awesome gifts given to customers include:
  • Christine, a mother of two, was given two piggy banks for her children, which included $1,000 each for college funds, plus tickets to Disneyland. “I've never been able to take my kids anywhere,” she said.
  • A Toronto Blue Jays fan named Mike Jobin was given Blue Jays swag and tickets at his Pickering, Ontario branch. He was then greeted by right fielder Jose Bautista, who told him he would throw out the first pitch at a game.
  • Dorothy received round-trip tickets to Trinidad to see her daughter, who has been fighting cancer. (Kleenex alert)
  • A machine gave one lucky little boy with his mom a crisp $20 bill.
The touching reactions of the banking customers were caught on camera and posted on YouTube on July 24. The video has more than 4 million views.
